Management Education in a Globally-run World

June 29, 2007

Hans Ulrich Maerki, Chairman of IBM for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region, visited IESE Business School (University of Navarra) recently as a member of the school¿s International Advisory Board.

In this interview, Maerki speaks about research conducted by IESE, and also highlights the school's diverse and international student body. In addition, he discusses the importance of management education in a more services-oriented and globally-run world, and of understanding the ethical implications that this new context brings.

During his time at IBM, Mr. Maerki has helped to build a people-oriented IT services business which today is the largest in Europe, employing more than 100,000 people in over 120 countries around the world.

As a member of IESE's IAB, he helps to guide the strategic direction of the school and help it meet the evolving needs of companies worldwide.
