Redefining Global Strategy

September 21, 2007

Prof. Pankaj Ghemawat is the Anselmo Rubiralta Professor of Global Strategy at IESE Business School (University of Navarra). Synthesizing and extending his work in this area, his new book, Redefining Global Strategy, shatters the myth that globalization has led to a flat and interconnected world. His research indicates that the world is far from being borderless, and companies that ignore this fact are liable to run into some predictable problems.

In this video interview, he talks to us about the dynamics of globalization and how corporations can devise effective strategies for crossing borders.

Sam Palmisano, Chairman & CEO, IBM, says Prof. Ghemawat "has created an important strategic guidebook for leaders of the 21st century globally integrated enterprise. By basing his analysis on real-world case studies and a mastery of economic data, Pankaj Ghemawat will help CEOs and leaders of institutions make smarter decisions on one of the most important challenges we all face."

Prof. Pankaj Ghemawat is a full-time professor of general management at IESE. He also holds a professorship at Harvard Business School, where he has taught since 1983. Redefining Global Strategy will be published by Harvard Business School Press in September 2007.
