Prof. Rita Gunther McGrath, Associate Professor at Columbia Business School, visited IESE's Madrid campus recently as part of the conference "Leading Growth in Difficult Times."
In this interview, she speaks to us about how companies can thrive in today's environment and the key factors for creating a culture of growth and innovation. She highlights several critical components of a succesful CEO and how to limit risk in today's climate.
Rita Gunther McGrath is professor of strategy and innovation process in Columbia Business School. Well-known for her expertize in the areas of strategy, innovation and growth, she works with global organizations such as Nokia, Microsoft, Swiss Re and 3M, as well as with smaller growth companies.
She has also co-authored two books: The Entrepreneurial Mindset (2000) and MarketBusters: 40 Strategic Moves that Drive Exceptional Business Growth (2005), both published by the Harvard Business School Press. Both have received many accolades. MarketBusters was featured by Bill Gates at the 2006 Microsoft CEO Summit, whose theme "Pathways to Growth" was derived from the book's main topic.
