What's Ahead in the "Post-PC" Era

Prof. Sandra Sieber looks into the future of digital devices

With smart phone and tablet sales now surpassing PC sales, consumers are radically changing how they use certain devices, says IESE Prof. Sandra Sieber. Post-PC devices have ushered in a "friendlier" technology environment, in which users feel a more personal attachment to IT products than they previously did.

In particulary, flash memory -  the storage technology that is used in most smartphones and other devices - has made a major impact in the overall user experience. As more consumers become constantly connected to their devices, the "Post-PC" ecosystem promises to bring about a reshuffling of well-known companies.
