Biography Bruno Cassiman is professor of Economics and Strategy in the Strategic Management Department of IESE Business School and a senior researcher at the Center for R&D and Innovation Policy at the University of Leuven. He earned a Ph.D. in Managerial Economics and Decision Sciences from the Kellogg School of Management of Northwestern University and has a degree in engineering and management from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium. Before joining the General Management department at IESE Business School, Bruno Cassiman was professor of Economics and Strategy at the University Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. Bruno Cassiman teaches the core course on Competitive Strategy in the first year of the full-time MBA program, in the Global Executive MBA and in International Executive Education programs. Furthermore, he has an important involvement in the IESE doctoral program teaching the first year courses on Microeconomics and Industrial Organization. He has taught at various other schools in the U.S .and in Europe such as the Kellogg School of Management, the Helsinki School of Economics, the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium, and the Lovanium International School of Management, in St. Petersburg, Russia. Bruno Cassiman's research interests lie in the area of economics of strategy and innovation. He has written a number of articles on issues of innovation for a variety of academic journals including The American Economic Review, Management Science, The European Economic Review, The International Journal of Industrial Organization, Managerial and Decision Economics, and, Research Policy. In addition, he has been a consultant to the European Commission and the Belgian government on matters of innovation policy and to several companies on matters of (innovation) strategy. His research findings have been incorporated in a special international executive education innovation program at IESE Business School. |
