Biography José Manuel Campa is the Grupo Santander Professor of Finance at IESE Business School. He received his undergraduate degree in business economics and law from the University of Oviedo and his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in economics from Harvard University. He taught at the Stern School of Business, New York University, from 1991 to 2000 and has been on the faculty at IESE Business School since 2000 where he serves as associate director of research. Prof. Campa has received the Stern School Professor of the Year Award, the IESE Faculty Research Award, the German Bernácer Prize for the best economist under forty from an euro area country specializing in the area of financial economics and the Fundación Banco Herrero research award. He is a former Fulbright and Bank of Spain scholar, and holder of the Fundación BBVA visiting chair at Universidad Complutense in Madrid. Prof. Campa has also been a visiting professor at Columbia University, and the Centro de Estudios Monetarios y Financieros. Prof. Campa's principal areas of academic and research activity include international financial markets, exchange rate determination, foreign exchange risk management, financial integration and corporate governance. He has published many papers in these fields in professional journals such as the American Economic Review, European Economic Review, European Financial Management, International Economic Review, Journal of Development Economics, Journal of Finance, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of International Economics, Management Science, and Review of Economics and Statistics. At present, his interests focus on the transmission of exchange rates to prices, international corporate integration in Europe and international corporate valuation and corporate governance. Prof. Campa has been a visiting scholar at the International Monetary Fund, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, the Bank for International Settlements, and a consultant for the World Bank, the Interamerican Development Bank and the European Commission. He is a research consultant to the Bank of Spain and a research associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research and the Center for Economic Policy Research. He has also served as a consultant to private institutions and as an expert witness on issues relating to international valuation, risk management and international finance. Prof. Campa serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of International Business Studies, European Economic Review, European Financial Management, Spanish Economic Review, Investigaciones Económicas, Expansión and Actualidad Económica.
