Biography Luis María Huete is professor in IESE's department of production, technology and operations management. His areas of specialization include clienting strategies, change management, customer loyalty, service quality, leadership and employee commitment. He regularly lectures at Harvard Business School. In his quality of visiting professor, he has also taught at INSEAD (Paris), Thunderbird (Genève), ESMT (Berlin), ISEM Fashion Business School (Madrid) and the Instituto Internacional San Telmo (Seville). He is the author of nine books and seven CD-ROMs, and is a renowned speaker at conferences and industry gatherings. His most recent book Construye tu sueño (Build Your Dream), 2005, reveals the keys to rendering professional success compatible with personal growth. Prof. Huete was a Fulbright Scholar and winner of the Decision Science Institute Award for best dissertation of the year. The journal Actualidad Económica rewarded him three times in the category of 100 best business ideas of the year. The Spanish publication Who's who in Spanish Management described him as one of the most influential figureheads of the Spanish management sector. This was confirmed by the Institute for International Research (IIR), which reported that three out of every four businessmen considered him to be the "best Spanish guru." Prof. Huete is also senior partner at Global Praxis, an international strategic consulting firm, and non-executive director of the Six Senses chain of luxury hotels. He has conducted consulting work for a huge list of prominent companies and banks, including Barclays Bank, BBVA, Caixa Galicia, la Caixa, Carrefour, Deloitte, Financial Times, FNAC, Hewlett Packard, Leche Pascual, Llanera, Movistar Argentina, Movistar Chile, Movistar Panamá, Movistar Guatemala Opel, Santander Central Hispano, Roche, Telefónica, Vodafone, Zurich. He serves on the boards of the University of Geneva, "Observatorio de la Empresa Flexible" (Madrid) and the Modern Art Foundation NMAC, as well as the boards of the journals Gestión de Negocios, Manager, Effective Management and Editorial LID. He is member of the Board of Directors of the real-estate firm Llanera and the theme park Portaventura. |
