Biography Philip Moscoso is an assistant professor in the department of Production, Technology and Operations Management at IESE Business School. At IESE, Professor Moscoso teaches courses in both open enrolment programs as well as in-company programs for executives and master students. Professor Moscoso's primary area of interest is the management of service operations. Central in this work is developing strategies and systems that help firms achieve service excellence, and ultimately profitable growth. His second work stream focuses on the design of operations management systems from a systemic and strategic point of view. Over the years he had the opportunity to develop both areas of interest through teaching, research projects and consulting work. Philip Moscoso has published extensively in international journals, congress proceedings, and business newspapers, both for practitioners as well as the academic community. He also has authored teaching materials and recently a book about production management. Prior to joining IESE faculty, Philip Moscoso was a manager at the management consulting firm Bain & Co. While at Bain, he advised clients across Europe and America from a variety of sectors such as consumer goods, service firms, telecom, airlines or private equity on strategic, organizational and performance issues. Additionally, at Bain he has been in charge of different office internal management tasks such as training or professional standards, and actively supported recruiting of consultants. Furthermore, during his time in Switzerland, Philip Moscoso was a member of the board of directors of two industrial companies. Philip Moscoso has completed a Service Operations Management Program at Harvard Business School, a General Management Program (PDG) at IESE, and his M.Sc. and Doctorate at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich in the department of Industrial Engineering and Management. At the ETH, he was also employed as a senior research and teaching assistant, lecturing in the area of operations research. |
