Biography

Govert Vroom is an assistant professor in IESE's Department of Strategic Management. He holds a Ph.D. in Management from INSEAD, and an M.A. in economics from Boston University.

Prior to joining IESE, Prof. Vroom taught at Purdue University's Krannert School of Management, where he led courses on strategic management and competitive strategy. In 2007, he received the John & Mary Willis Young Faculty Scholar award at Purdue University.

Prof. Vroom's main research interests are competitive strategy, managerial incentives, organizational design, and industrial organization. Among his recent articles are "Organizational Design and the Intensity of Rivalry" in Management Science and "Ownership Form, Managerial Incentives and the Intensity of Rivalry" with Javier Gimeno in the Academy of Management Journal.

Prof. Vroom speaks English, Dutch, French, German and Spanish.
