This course has two parts. The first one covers the basics of probability: probability calculus, univariate and multivariate distributions, expectation, independence and conditional distributions. The second part is a brief introduction to statistics, starting with an introduction to estimation and testing, following with the presentation of the classical tests for comparing means and variances and ending with simple linear regression. Stata is used for the data analysis in the examples and exercises.
