As part of the collaboration with the Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness, HBS , IESE is the official survey Spanish partner of the World Economic Forum for the Global Competitiveness Report (GCR), an effort directed by Prof. Subirà, and carried out with the support of The Anselmo Rubiralta Center for Globalization and Strategy.
The rankings are the result of data published and of the Survey of Executive Opinion, a detailed survey carried out by the World Economic Forum. Last year’s survey included more than 12.600 business leaders from 133 countries.
This barometer shows an assessment of the business climate in Spain according to foreign companies. To do this, the study identifies strengths that should be maintained and enhanced and the main areas where effort is needed. It aims to be a useful tool for understanding what leads to success in attracting foreign investment and for identifying what the public and private sector should do to maintain and improve foreign investment in Spain.
The study has been carried out together with Invest in Spain.
Invest in Spain is a state-owned company created in October 2005, under the leadership of the Secretary of State for Commerce and Tourism, in the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce. Its mission is to promote, attract and maintain foreign investment in Spain.
The barometer will be published annually, with the objective of being a reference for the evolution of the business climate in Spain, from the point of view of foreign investors.
