This study looks to further the understanding of the practices that are being utilized in the private equity industry and with prior research should provide clear conclusions on ways firms in the PE industry can continue to improve their hiring practices so as to ensure the ideal mix of employees that can assist in providing differential value. It will analyze which individual competencies are most important along different stages of the value creation chain.

In this ongoing research project we are working closely with a group of 80-90 CEOs of European high-growth technology firms to discuss in-depth their current challenges, strategies, etc.
Furthermore, we conducted with them a survey regarding their performance, compensation, technology management practices, internationalization and other features relevant to the firm. These results have been presented in three different events.

Based on research results of young high-tech firms that have experienced “near-death experiences” or even failure. We are analyzing the triggers to such crises as well as the subsequent processes taking place which lead firms to verge of bankruptcy. Beyond, we are looking at appropriate coping mechanisms for these firms to turn the companies around and bring them back onto a growth path.
