Pablo Casas-Arce is an Assistant Profesor of Economics and Business at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, where he teaches Human Resources Management at the undergraduate level, and Topics in Microeconomics in the Doctoral program. He is also the recipient of the Juan de la Cierva fellowship. Before joining UPF, he was a Leverhulme postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Oxford and Nuffield College. He received a PhD and an MA in Economics from Harvard University and a BA in Economics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra.
His research interests focus on the economics of organizations and contract theory. He studies the ways in which firms design contracts and institutions in order to safeguard their interests and achieve a desirable outcome in their business transactions. He is also interested in the design of incentive systems, and its relation to the performance of organizations. He also works on law and economics, looking at the way in which the legal environment shapes these contractual arrangements, and affects the organization of production.
