Mr. Franz Borgers

Franz Borgers is the CEO of Johann Borgers GmbH . Educated in Germany, Switzerland, France and the United States, he is the fourth-generation head of the company. Founded in Bocholt in Westfalia more than 130 years ago, Borgers was initially known for textile recycling, as well as for the production of fleece and felt. Today, the European automotive industry is the company’s main market. It produces carpets, insulation parts, parcel shelves and roof liners
in 21 factories in more than 19 locations in seven European countries.

 

Prof. Dr. Jordi Canals

Jordi Canals  has been Dean of IESE since 2001 and professor in the departments of Economics and General Management. He was a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Harvard Business School, Associate Fellow at Harvard University, Visiting Scholar at the World Bank and Guest Scholar at the International Monetary Fund. Prof. Canals is a founding member of the European Shadow Financial Regulatory Committee and member of the Corporate Governance Commission.

 

Dr. Enrico Tomaso Cucchiani

Enrico Tomaso Cucchiani  earned his Ph.D. in economics from Bocconi University in Milan. He carried out research projects at Harvard Business School and earned an MBA from the University of Stanford as a Fulbright Fellow. He has been Chairman of Lloyd Adriático since 2001 and since January 1, 2006 Enrico Cucchiani has been a member of the board of management of Allianz AG, responsible for Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Portugal, Greece and Turkey and the Sustainability Program in property/casualty insurance. Since March of this year he has also been Vice-president of Allianz Seguros.

 

Prof. Dr. Jüergen Donges

Jüergen Donges has been professor of economic sciences and director of the Institute of Economic Politics at the University of Cologne since 1989. He has served as an assessor for various institutions, including the Institute of the German Economy, Cologne; the Institute for International Economics, Washington, D.C.; Institute for Global Economics, Seoul and the Instituto de Estudios Económicos, Madrid. He is the author of various books on economics and his articles are published widely in the press.

 

Prof. Dr. Kurt Faltlhauser

Kurt Faltlhauser  is the State Minister of Finance for Bavaria. He earned a degree in economics in 1967 and doctor of political science in 1971. He is a lecturer at the Faculty of Economics of Munich University, where he is honorary professor. He is chairman of the Finance and Budget Working Party of the Christian Social Union (CSU) group; Financial Spokesman of the CDU/CSU federal parliamentary group; Deputy Chairman of the CDU/CSU federal parliamentary group and Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister of Finance.

 

Prof. Dr. Pankaj Ghemawat

Pankaj Ghemawat  is the Jaime and Josefina Chua Tiampo Professor of Business Administration at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Business Administration. One strand of his research and teaching focuses on the dynamics of globalization and generic strategies for international firms. Another strand of his work is concerned with foundational issues in business strategy, particularly work on the topics of competitive dynamics, business scope, and complexity. Professor Ghemawat is author of many books, articles and case studies. He is the Departmental Editor of Strategy for Management Science; other editorial involvement includes: Journal of Economics and Management Strategy, and Strategic Management.”

 

Ms. Vicky Hu

President of Shanghai Evergreen Hospital Investment as well as CEO of the China Capital Investment Group (CCIG) since 1999. Among other responsibilities, she was former managing director of Shanghai King City International.

 

Mr. Hans Ulrich Maerki

Hans Ulrich Maerki is Chairman of IBM Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). He represents IBM to EU and country external authorities on issues of international public policy and business. Mr. Maerki previously held a variety of positions including General Manager for IBM’s business in 124 countries in EMEA, general manager of IBM’s Global Services business in EMEA and general manager of IBM Switzerland. 

 

Prof. Dr. Johanna Mair

Johanna Mair  is assistant professor in IESE’s general management department. She currently teaches strategy and social entrepreneurship in the MBA program, various executive education programs and is the academic director of the Program for Management Development (PMD). Dr. Mair's research and teaching interests fall within the domain of corporate strategy and social entrepreneurship. She researches how multi-business companies create value and the role of middle managers in this process.

 

Dr. Klaus Mangold  

Dr. Mangold  is the Executive Adviser to the Chairman of DaimlerChrysler AG. He largely deals with initiatives to open new business opportunities in Central and Eastern Europe and Asia.

 

General Dr. Klaus Naumann

Klaus Naumann  served as Chairman of the North Atlantic Military Committee of NATO (1996-99) and played a central role in managing the Kosovo crisis and in developing NATO’s new integrated military command structure. He was promoted to Four Star General in 1991 and appointed at the same time Chief of Staff of the German Armed Forces, a position he held until becoming Chairman of the North Atlantic Military Committee. After retirement, he served as a member of the Panel on United Nations Peace Operations.

 

Prof. Dr. Pedro Nueno

Pedro Nueno  is professor in IESE’s department of entrepreneurship. His areas of specialization include entrepreneurship, intrapreneurship and starting new ventures, management of technology and innovation, management of privatization and turnaround processes, industrial alliances, joint-ventures and acquisitions and industrial procurement, supply-chain management. He holds the Bertran Foundation Chair of Entrepreneurship.

 

Mr. Hans-Ewald Reinert

Hans-Ewald Reinart is CEO of the Reinart Group, a family concern now in its third generation. Reinart has become the market leader in premium sausage products in Germany, through its implementation of a multi-brand strategy, serving the premium segment and discount traders alike. The Reinart Group has more than 1,300 employees at a total of five locations, producing over 70,000 tons of high-quality sausage and ham products for both the domestic and export markets.

 

Prof. Dr. Marc Sachon

Marc Sachon  is associate professor in IESE's Department of Production, Technology and Operations Management. He holds a Ph.D, in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University. He is the academic co-director of IESE’s Advanced Management Program AMP in Munich, the academic director of this Alumni Reunion and a member of IESE’s Ph.D. committee. His research areas include e-supply chain management, product development and engineering risk analysis. Dr. Sachon is German and lectures in English, German and Spanish.

 

Prof. Dr. Pedro Videla

Pedro Videla  is associate professor in the department of economics. He holds a Ph.D. and an MA in Economics, both from the University of Chicago, and a Commercial Engineering degree in Economics from Universidad Católica de Chile. His areas of specialization include macroeconomics, international economies and emerging economies. As a consultant Prof. Videla has been involved in projects with institutions such as the World Bank, IMF, CEE, the InterAmerican Development Bank, and ASAID.

 

Prof. Dr. Claus Weyrich

Dr. Weyrich  is Member of the Managing Board of Siemens AG and previously he held a variety of positions in the firm since 1969 when he joined Siemens AG.

He is honorary professor at the University of Munich.
