Welcome to the IESE Global Alumni Reunion

The IESE Alumni Association will celebrate its 47th Global Alumni Reunion in Madrid. The theme this year is “The New Dynamics of Global Business”.

As faculty directors of this Reunion, we invite you to devote an entire day to reflect on the change in the business environment affecting our companies, and most importantly on the best way of dealing with it. Several years of sustained growth, in the context of globalization and technological innovation, have led to a profound change in the economic world and more so in our own organizations. We are nevertheless living a new historic moment in which the economic cycle is reversing while the world economy seems headed to a global adjustment.

In the Reunion we wish to discuss the challenges, opportunities, trends and alternative actions for business success in this changing environment. We aim to focus on all of these aspects, not only from a macroeconomic perspective but also from the point of view of the cultural, organizational and technological implications that such changes would entail for modern companies. Today, more than ever, a thorough review of our value systems seems unavoidable, for directors as well as for society as a whole.

We trust that our guest speakers’ speeches, the interaction IESE faculty professors and your active participation will contribute to everyone’s deeper understanding of the environment in which we do business and to improve — as business leaders and people — our day-to-day work.

This Reunion caps off a very special year in which we have celebrated IESE’s 50th anniversary with a wide range of commemorative events. The example of those that have gone before us should inspire us to be grateful and motivate us to design new and exciting action plans for the next half century. In this spirit, we invite you to be with us on a day which we are sure will turn out to be highly inspiring.
