IESE Business School

Polish and European Context, Global Outlook

All editions of the Advanced Management Program share the same essential objective – to improve the professional effectiveness and leadership capacity of each and every participant. Yet the Polish edition is unique because it is tailored to the realities of Europe as the region undergoes fundamental, structural economic change.

This is accomplished through the significant participation of IESE faculty members with pan-European expertise and the use of business cases that focus on issues of relevance to Polish business today: globalization, stimulation of innovation, entrepreneurship culture, opportunities and threats through digitalization and the Internet, and business process outsourcing off-shoring.

Relevance is further assured as senior Polish executives in the program share ideas and experiences with each other and with IESE’s highly experienced international faculty members and distinguished guest speakers.

IESE has wide experience in working with industrial firms, including both small and large enterprises, as well as new business ventures on a global scale. The school is therefore wellpositioned to address the concerns of diverse types of firms that drive the Polish economy.

IESE is home to such important centers of advanced academic research as the Center for Family Business and Entrepreneurship, and the Center for Globalization and Strategy. The school regularly mounts executive programs for many of Europe’s most successful industrial and services companies.

The Advanced Management Program in Warsaw is a distinctive product on the Polish market: it offers the professional benefits of one of the world’s most acclaimed programs for senior executive development, combined with course content tailored to Polish realities, in a format accessible to one of Europe’s most dynamic economic regions.

Serving Poland and Central Europe

As the business panorama of Central and Eastern Europe has transformed, IESE Business School has sought to play an active role in the region. Each year, many highly-qualified candidates from Central and Eastern Europe take part in IESE’s full-time MBA, Global Executive MBA and executive education programs, many of them from Poland. Currently, about 5% of the MBA class is from the region, which is home to a large and growing network of IESE alumni. Regional chapters coordinate numerous reunions and other events for local alumni throughout the year.

Moreover, since 1991, IESE has provided support to junior faculty members at major universities in Eastern Europe through the school’s International Faculty Development Program, which was established with assistance from the European Union. Graduates of the IFDP program play a key role in preparing the region’s future managers and entrepreneurs. Since the program's inception, more than 80 faculty members from leading Polish schools of business and economics have taken part.
