Program structure & calendar
The AMP Barcelona is divided into four 1-week modules held over six months on IESE’s Barcelona campus.
The program is offered twice a year to suit your professional and personal agenda. The Fall Edition starts in November 2012 and the Spring Edition will start in March 2013.
At the end of the program, you receive a diploma — a valued credential in the corporate world — certifying that you have successfully completed the Advanced Management Program.
Module 1 - Understanding the Business Landscape
Module 3 - Improving Business Performance
Fall: November 12-16, 2012
Spring: March 11-16, 2013
The first module treats essential management areas, including the global macroeconomic environment, competitive strategy, accounting and decision analysis. Leadership and team-building concepts are also covered, as well as an introduction to the CPP.
Fall: March 18-22, 2013
Spring: June 17-21, 2013
The third module delves into diverse innovation and entrepreneurship models, as well as corporate finance, service management and operations and supply chain management.
Module 2 - Getting Ready for What Lies Ahead
Module 4 - Transforming Business Leaders
Fall: January 14-18, 2013
Spring: May 6-10, 2013
Module 2 introduces new concepts and tools in management control, marketing and IT, while reinforcing fundamental principles. It also stresses the link to overall business vision and strategy.
Fall: May 13-17, 2013
Spring: September 16-20, 2013
In the final module, you develop your own leadership abilities and apply them in collaborative and competitive situations. Corporate and global strategies are also examined and the final touches are added to take-home agendas and CPPs.
Module Workload Before Each Modules: A package with pre-readings will arrive a month before the start of each residential week to give you time to prepare.
During Modules: Expect to be fully occupied with classes, study and organized social activities during the four residential weeks. Between lectures and teamwork sessions, you will spend around eight hours a day on IESE's campus, so try to leave work responsibilities at the office. Each class or case study will require about two hours’ advance preparation time.
Between Modules: When you are not on the IESE campus, you are preparing for the next residential week and working on your Cross-Program Project.
