Welcome to the IESE Global Alumni Reunion The IESE Alumni Association will celebrate its 48th Global Alumni Reunion in New York. The theme this year is “Reframing the Future of Business.” As the faculty directors of this year’s reunion, we invite you to join us for a day of reflection on this critical subject in a global context. During the reunion, we will examine the dramatic changes affecting businesses today, and most importantly, ways of meeting the diverse challenges that arise. Shifts in the global economy have created a need to redefine the business environment, to engage more actively in innovative thinking and explore unchartered territory. For this reason, we will address various dimensions of today’s global economy such as new perspectives on technology, globalization and changes in the economic and political landscape, among other topics. The concept “reframing the future” refers not only to business from a macroeconomic perspective, however. The reunion will also address topics related to your personal future. Self-improvement in times of adversity, learning from past experience and maintaining a healthy work-life balance are equally important to an organization’s success. Healthy people will drive a healthy economy; therefore a review of today’s values systems is also crucial for executives and society as a whole. Your active participation, together with insight from our guest speakers and interaction with IESE professors, will contribute to a deeper understanding of the business world and spark new ideas for progress. This reunion caps off a very special year, in which IESE has firmly planted roots in the USA. Renovation of the new IESE Center in New York has started - a project that will expand the school’s activities and raise its profile in North America. The 48th edition of the reunion will be particularly important, since it will directly support the school’s growth in the region and the completion of this project. Following the example set by previous Academic Directors, to whom we are very grateful, we hope the reunion will motivate you to create new and exciting action plans for 2010.
