ICC - International Center for Competitiveness
Competitiveness of Companies, Industries, Clusters, Regions and Nations

Research

ICC carries out research on competitiveness and its implications in different areas, with special emphasis on the European Union and increasing globalization.

Lines of Research

Competitiveness
Competitiveness, or the group of factors, policies and institutions that determine a region’s or country’s productivity, is the main focus of research at the ICC. In addition to macroeconomic factors, other elements such as the sophistication of company operations and strategy and the quality of the business environment in which companies operate, constitute the microeconomic basis of competitiveness.

The ICC aims to contribute to the study and dissemination of competitive causes in Spain, while keeping in mind its position in Europe and the rest of the world.

Clusters
Clusters are geographic concentrations of interconnected firms, specialized suppliers, service companies and associated institutions. All these companies compete and cooperate, as well as create a business environment in which information, technological advances and abilities are shared, all of which affect the level of business dynamism, efficiency and innovation. The ICC tries to deepen the influence of clusters on the competitiveness of companies, regions and countries.
