IESE Business Angels Network

What is it?

The IESE business angels network is a platform supported by CIDEM that is dedicated to bringing together entrepreneurs seeking funding and informal investors (business angels) with the capacity to contribute capital and knowledge to new or young companies with growth potential. The network is a member of the European Business Angel Network.

The objectives of the network are to:

  • Put projects by promising companies in contact with private investors who are members of the network.
  • Encourage interchange of experience and knowledge among members.
  • Facilitate continuous learning and knowledge refreshment for its members.

The aim is to reduce the funding difficulties faced by young companies.

The business angels network does not invest in business projects; nor does it adopt investment decisions on its own nor on behalf of its partners or network members.

How does it work?

The process of bringing together business angels and entrepreneurs, known as matchmaking, is done by circulating business plans amongst the investors and carrying out investment forums where entrepreneurs present their proposals to a reduced number of investors who have expressed interest in their business plan.

Being a member of the network requires the approval of and conformity with the principles detailed in the Code of Conduct (in Spanish).  (PDF, 34 Kb)

For more information on how the network works, see the Operations Guide (in Spanish).  (PDF, 43 Kb)

Who can be a member of the network?

Any person with the financial capacity to invest and who has taken the IESE training program for business angels, or those investors with proven experience and the support of at least one network member.

Collaboration with the IESE program Business Angels Academy facilitates the continuous growth of the number of network members and ensures their professionalism as well as their financial muscle.

How do entrepreneurs present their business plans?

Those entrepreneurs who wish to have their business plans circulated among the network members must present their proposals according to the directives established by the network.

Documentation presented to the network should be adapted to specific business profile models  (PDF, 61 Kb) (in Spanish), and recommendations for creating an executive summary  (PDF, 44 Kb) (in Spanish), and should be sent to businessangels@iese.edu.
