The Europe’s 500 Growth Plus Research Report


Coordinator: Professor Joan Roure
This project is part of the activities of the pan-European association, Growth Plus (formerly Europe’s 500), consisting of dynamic, enterprising companies. The objective of the study is to analyze the profile, management practices and evolution of high growth companies based on a sample of the most dynamic European companies included in the annually published Europe’s 500 Honorary List.

Creation and development of companies based on high technology


Coordinator: Professor Pedro Nueno
Sponsored by the PROFIT Program (Program for Promoting Technical Research included in the National Plan for Scientific Research, Development and Technological Innovation), this project is designed to delve into the conditions necessary for more efficient management of the entrepreneurial process in companies based on high technology during their prenatal and natal stages. The principal contributions of the study will be to identify the best practices that can be used by all agents –entrepreneurs, investors, incubators, mentors, advisors and trainers- intervening in the process of creating new technological companies in the initial stages of their life cycle.

Study and monitoring of the entrepreneurial process of technological companies selected for the NEOTEC Program of CDTI


Coordinator: Professor Joan Roure
The objectives of this study are to evaluate the process of obtaining capital and extending knowledge of internal and external factors that influence the entrepreneurial process through questionnaires and semi-structured interviews at the twenty selected companies, and a clinical analysis of those with the greatest interest.

Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Study of the profile of candidate companies and their businesspeople


Coordinator: Professor Joan Roure
The purpose of this research project, under the auspices of the Entrepreneur of the Year Award granted by Ernst&Young, is to analyze the profile and the role played by entrepreneurs who direct the companies eligible for the award and the key factors in the strategies that have contributed to their success. The intention is to widen our knowledge on the most important dimensions related to the creation and development of enterprising Spanish companies and to identify the principal opportunities and challenges that these companies will face in the future.

Survey on the entrepreneurial activity of MBA alumni


Coordinator: Professor Pedro Nueno
The objective of this survey, taken on alumni of IESE’s MBA Program, is to ascertain and analyze the aspects of their professional careers relating to the creation of companies. The study has been carried out every five years since 1980.

Survey of the entrepreneurial activity of alumni of Executive Improvement Programs


Coordinator: Professor Pedro Nueno
The principal objectives of this study are to evaluate the professional and motivational profile of entrepreneurs in this segment of IESE alumni who have created new companies or are in the process of doing so, and to analyze the degree and nature of the entrepreneurial activity carried out through an analysis of selected dimensions of the entrepreneurial process.

Analysis of the entrepreneurial process of companies promoted by SCR Finaves


Coordinator: Professor Pedro Nueno
The results of the experience and knowledge accumulated by the venture capital firm, Finaves, in their process of supporting new business initiatives. This workbench generates clinical cases on the entrepreneurial process and the intervening agents (investors, the Administration and entrepreneurs), from which significant conclusions can be drawn.

Leading Growth - Searching for Growth Leaders


Coordinators: Professors Júlia Prats and Rama Velamuri.
IESE is launching a major research project aimed at identifying business leaders in established businesses who have achieved exemplary growth. This field research project is geared towards understanding the qualities, capabilities and practices of business leaders across organizational levels and functions, who have demonstrated the ability to foster internally-generated or organic revenue growth on a sustained basis.

IESE Business School will collaborate on this project with the Batten Institute of the Darden Graduate School of Business, University of Virginia.
