Summer Campus for Future MBAs
Program introduces management education to young students
Summertime provides an excellent opportunity for university students to move ahead with their professional and personal development. With this in mind, IESE will offer university students and recent graduates in any field the chance to experience the MBA program for one week during MBA Summer School in July.
From July 8-12, some 35 participants, who have an average age of 22, will take part in this intensive program, led on IESE's Barcelona campus. Members of this year's Summer School class - of which 40 percent is women, 50 percent is international and in which 16 nationalities are reflected - will gain a general management perspective of the business world and get a preview of one of the world's top-ranked MBA programs.
The program combines academic sessions, case studies, group work, classroom discussions and social activities. Participants will probe essential business areas such as operations, people management, marketing, accounting, information systems and entrepreneurship.
A hallmark of the program is its goal to foster interaction among the students following their initial contact. To kick off the program, the first day of Summer School includes a treasure hunt in the Born neighborhood of Barcelona, in which participants compete in teams and carry out tests to earn points at historical points in the area.
To help deepen participants' understanding of the IESE MBA program, this year the program includes a special panel in which first-year MBA students discuss their experiences at the school.
