On November 6-7, IESE will host the Automotive Industry Meeting for the 28th year, in collaboration with KPMG, co-organizer. Experts and leaders will gather at IESE’s Barcelona campus to shed light on today’s challenges and look at what's in store for the industry in the next few years.

The contrasting growth trends between premium and volume manufacturers and, at the same time, between emerging and developed economies, has inspired the theme of this year’s meeting, “Two Worlds, Two Speeds.”  The meeting’s academic directors, Marc Sachon, Professor of Production, Technology and Operations Management and Chairman of the Automotive Industry Meeting, Pedro Nueno, Professor of Entrepreneurship, and Joan Llorens, Former President of SEAT—both Founding Chairmen of the meeting—and Francisco Roger, Partner, Country Coordinator Automotive KPMG, will moderate sessions over two days dealing with the event’s central theme.

Among the speakers expected to share their insights at this year’s meeting are Carl Peter, Board Member Volvo Cars, Geely and IMI Plc.; Dr. Dirk Schlesinger, Head of Manufacturing, Cisco Systems; Christian Steiner, Head of Corporate Mobility Services, BMW Group; Freeman H. Shen, Group Vice President, Corporate Development, Geely Holding Group; Antonio Cobo, General Manager, General Motors Spain; José Manuel Machado, President, Ford Spain; Jean-Marc Gales, CEO, CLEPA Association of European Automotive Suppliers; Roman Havlasek, Director Global Aftersales, Skoda; Andrew Thomson, Head of Automotive for Asia Pacific, KPMG; Frank Torres, CEO, Nissan Spain; and Felip Puig, Minister of Enterprise and Employment, Generalitat de Catalunya.

The speakers, representing all corners of the globe, will share their expertise during 20 different sessions. These include Automotive Manufacturing in Spain (I &II); The Future of the Automotive Industry; Mobility and Connectivity in the 21st Century; Services: A Key Link in the Value Chain; Suppliers of the Future; Entrepreneurship in the Automotive Industry; Strategy and Sustainability in the Automotive Industry; Sales & Post-Sales Business; and The Automotive Industry in China: Present & Future.
