1. Welcome: the 12th issue
Innovation is a recurrent term everywhere today. Companies and institutions trying to prosper in the global environment need to incorporate new technologies, procedures, designs and "next" practices. Governments, managers and researchers are devoting their efforts to improve in this field. We have tried to collect in this newsletter information resources helpful to deal with the innovation process: where to find books and articles, what are governments doing to promote innovation, how it is financed, how to protect innovation, among other topics. We hope you find it useful.

2. Top picks in... Innovation

…innovation is much more than creating new products or new technologies… To truly understand innovation, we believe that it is important to disabuse yourself of the myths and misconceptions that surround innovation. So, find better homes for the ideas you already generate. Build an innovation competency. Enable your innovators with just enough structure and process. Leverage the past and focus on what works, not simply what is new. Encourage people to make lots of early mistakes. Take the scenic route on the way to creating customer value. Think beyond products and technologies in exploring innovation opportunities. By exploding these myths, you will be on your way to mastering innovation.”

Sawhney, Mohanbir and Wolcott, Robert.
The Seven Myths of Innovation.
