  Social Networking in Business

The rise of social networks is changing the way people interact with each other, as well as how they work or do business. One cannot ignore that social networking websites are being used regularly by millions of people and have power and impact in our personal and professional lives. Facebook, MySpace, Blooger, Tagged and Twitter are the largest players on the global stage. In a global connected economy, success as a professional and competitiveness as a company depend upon faster access to insight and resources you can trust.
Although we cannot isolate the business elements of social networking sites, we are going to focus our 31st Newsletter on the social networks mainly used by business professionals.
As there are so many options available, our advice is to study carefully which tool you are going to invest your time in. Good luck with your networking!

  Wolfram Alpha

Wolfram Alpha is an online service that answers factual queries directly by computing the answer from structured data, rather than providing a list of documents or web pages that might contain the answer, as a search engine might. It is considered a computational knowledge engine. Wolfram Alpha is the first step in an ambitious, long-term project to make all systematic knowledge immediately computable by anyone.

  NewsletterJun09-weRecommend1 Bing

Microsoft's new general-purpose search engine is a replacement for Live Search. Notable changes include the listing of search suggestions in real time as queries are entered, as well as a list of related searches based on semantic technology. Bing also includes the ability to Save and Share search histories via Windows Live SyDrive, Facebook, and e-mail.

  Google Squared

Google Squared is a semantic search product offered by Google that helps you quickly build a collection of facts from the Web for any topic you specify. It extracts structured data from across the web and presents its results in spreadsheet-like format. Each search query returns a table of search results which has its own set of columns - common attributes that are associated with the topic of a search.
