The World Competitiveness Yearbook analyses and ranks the ability of nations to create and maintain an environment that sustains the competitiveness of enterprises. It does so using 314 criteria covering economic performance, government efficiency, business efficiency and infrastructure. Emerging market economies covered include many of the South American and Central and Eastern European countries, China, India, Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines and Indonesia. The major industrialised countries are also covered.
