2.3- Historical accounts and inactive companies

By “historical accounts” we mean access to enough consecutive years of financial statement data to study a company’s development over time. Annual reports and company websites usually provide a few previous year’s data, but the following specialist services give more. They also facilitate trend analysis with graphs and downloading functions.

Thomson One
Up to 10 years (depending on company) of balance sheet and income statement data for 38 000 public companies worldwide. Data for inactive companies is retained in the database. Search for the company using Name/Key Lookup, choose the Financials tab then Financial statements to explore the available options. Data can be downloaded to Excel.

Thomson One is available from Library > E-Resources > By alphabetical order . It can be accessed off-campus by current students, staff and faculty. Please read instructions in off-campus access to e-resources .

Amadeus
Up to 10 years’ (depending on company) balance sheet, P&L and ratios for 250 000 public and private European companies, excluding banks. Data for inactive companies is retained. Data can be downloaded to Excel or displayed in a variety of graphs (e.g. evolution of profit over last 10 years).

Amadeus is available from Library > E-Resources > By alphabetical order . It can be accessed off-campus by current students, staff and faculty and members of the IESE Alumni Association*. Please read instructions in off-campus access to e-resources .

*Please note: Members may not download data.

Sabi
Sabi has the same functionality and historical coverage as Amadeus for 900 000 public and private Spanish companies, excluding banks. Data for inactive companies is also retained.

Sabi is available from Library > E-Resources > By alphabetical order . It can be accessed off-campus by current students, staff and faculty and members of the IESE Alumni Association*. Please read instructions in off-campus access to e-resources .

*Please note: Members may not download data.
