Euromonitor reports via Global Market Information Database (GMID)
GMID includes substantial market reports by Euromonitor on the travel and tourism market in around 40 countries worldwide. Each report covers: the operating environment, industry issues, demand factors, tourism parameters, travel accommodation, transportation, car rental, travel retail, tourist attractions, strategic alliances, key company profiles and future outlook.
GMID is available from Library > E-Resources > By alphabetical order . Within GMID, select Browse reports on the green toolbar, then select Industry reports and Travel and tourism.
At present, GMID is only available from computers on the IESE campus.
Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) forecasts via Business Source Premier
The IESE community has access to a number of EIU publications via the aggregator database Business Source Premier. Included is the EIU series Travel and Tourism Forecast. Five-year forecasts exist for four broad regions: the World, Middle East and Africa, Asia and Australasia and the Americas. Each report contains data and analysis on key industry players, market segmentation and trends in consumption and production. Note: There is a six month embargo on this publication (the most recent forecasts available at 22 May 2006 are from June 2005).
Business Source Premier is available on and off-campus from Library > E-Resources > By alphabetical order . Select the Business Searching interface, then Industry Reports on the blue side bar. Select Economist Intelligence Unit as publisher to see all the available industry forecasts.

World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC)
The WTTC offers world, regional and country “Satellite Accounting” reports, published for free in conjunction with Accenture. “Satellite Accounting” is the United Nations’ measure of travel and tourism’s impact on the economy.

Also available from the site is the Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Monitor, which indicates to what extent a country offers a competitive environment for T&T development.
Instituto de Comercio Exterior (ICEX)
Spain’s Instituto de Comercio Exterior has produced a number of reports about foreign tourist markets aimed at Spanish investors. The reports are useful for a general picture of the tourist sector in various countries but also look specifically at issues affecting foreign investors. Reports are in Spanish.

Government-sponsored tourism websites
It is worth looking at the relevant tourism bodies or government departments in your country of interest for more detailed reports, often available to download free.
