Introduction
The IESE Center for Emerging Markets and the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with Casa África are proud to host an international forum with experts on Sub-Saharan African Markets.
The IESE Center for Emerging Markets and the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with Casa África welcome you to an international forum featuring leading experts on Sub-Saharan African Markets. One of the main goals of the forum is to provide a clear overview of these markets in order to assist entrepreneurs and business leaders from Spain to gain a deeper understanding of the risks and investment opportunities in Africa, as these markets are relatively unknown to Spanish firms. A second related objective of the forum is to facilitate a platform for entrepreneurs, business consultants and directors of firms from Sub-Saharan African countries to meet with their counterparts from Spain, so that their own business ventures and international competitiveness can be enhanced. Sub-Saharan Africa comprises a wide range of countries; each one unique and continuously evolving new business opportunities. Nevertheless, to many Spanish entrepreneurs, African markets all appear complex, far away and risky. We are thus privileged to present the insights, studies and opinions of local experts, high profile representatives of governmental institutions, entrepreneurs and academics from across Sub-Saharan Africa and the international community. The conference will include panel discussions on the themes of entrepreneurship, international trade, industrial organization, technology and innovation in order to give an overall perspective on the current situation and future trends for the area along with sector and strategic insights. In addition, representatives of Spanish firms will have the opportunity to request for private meetings with African consultants with expertise from the following countries: - Angola
- Burkina Faso
- Equatorial Guinea
- Ghana
- Ivory Coast
- Mali
- Mozambique
- Nigeria
- Senegal
- South Africa
Objective
The IESE Center for Emerging Markets and the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce have organized the forum in order to present opportunities for business and partnerships in Sub-Saharan Africa to local companies and thus promote the internationalization of the Spanish economy and the economic development of Sub-Saharan Africa.
