The start of a new year is an opportune time to take stock of where we want to go in the year ahead – and to try to put the last year marked by the global financial crisis behind us. We put these questions to various IESE professors representing vital areas of general management. They give their take on what managers ought to be considering now, to help get the business world back in shape. | | Read more

 | Daniel Franklin of The Economist Speaks at IESE
"The good news about 2010 is that the world will emerge from recession and the post-crisis economic landscape will become clearer," writes Daniel Franklin, editor of the The Economist's "The World in 2010" on the publication's website. "Less cheerful is what that landscape will look like," he says. Franklin made a special presentation at IESE's Madrid campus on Monday, Feb. 1, moderated by Prof. Juan José Toribio, as part of the Continuous Education Program. Now in its 24th edition, "The World in 2010" features predictions about the coming year from the perspectives of journalists, politicians and business people. Among the highlights are: India's transition from farming to manufacturing and China's overtaking of Japan as the world's second-largest economy. | | Read more |
