Alumni Governing Board Meeting

The annual meeting of the Governing Board of the Alumni Association will take place in Barcelona and Madrid, simultaneously, on January 30. All the Presidents and Secretaries of the classes graduated at IESE as well as the Presidents and Vicepresidents of all the Regional Chapters are invited. During the meeting, the board directives and the Annual Report for 2010-2011 will be presented. The meeting will also host the IESE Alumni Association’s Research Excellence Awards for 2011, recognizing IESE faculty members who have stood out for their research endeavors. In addition, as required by the statutes, the board will elect a new president this year. At the IESE Alumni Association we would like to thank Antonio González-Adalid the dedication with which he has presided the Association during the past years.

In November and December, more than 50 AMP and PMD participants in Brazil completed their programs to become member of IESE’s worldwide alumni community. Welcome! Open Days for the AMP and PMD Brazil will take place on March 6 and an Open Day for the Executive MBA will be held on February 4.
 
Doing Good and Doing WellDoing Good and Doing Well: new speakers confirmed 
Jacques Pieraerts, president and CEO of Toyota Spain, and Gavin Neath, senior vice president of the Sustainability Division of  Unilever have confirmed their participation in the next edition of the Doing Good and Doing Well conference, which is focused on growth, innovation and sustainability. The conference will be held in Barcelona on February 24-25.

More than 45 IESE alumni and guests gathered at IESE’s campus in New York to attend the session, ”A New Challenge for Leadership. A Changing Skillset” led by Prof. Paddy Miller. The next session in New York will be on February 2: “SenseMaking for ChangeMaking” to be led by Prof. Joaquim Vilà.

Museo UNAVThe University of Navarra Museum breaks ground
In December, construction began on the University of Navarra’s new contemporary art museum. The project, which will take place over 22 to 24 months, will be presented in 17 Spanish cities, starting in February. The presentations will include an explanation of how the idea came about, what the collection will include and a description of the building.

Xavier OliverProf. Xavier Oliver talks about marketing 3.0 in London 
On Dec. 1 in London, Prof. Xavier Oliver delivered the session, “Marketing 3.0 Straight to the Soul: Are Agencies Helping Brands as They Were Before?”, which was attended by more than 40 alumni and guests.
 
CEIBSIESE and CEIBS launch joint doctoral program
A new joint doctoral program will begin next September with professors from IESE as well as the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS), the leading business school in China. It marks the first program of its kind to be created through the collaboration of business schools in Europe and China.
