2nd Sports Management Industry Meeting

Introduction

THE VISION FOR SPORTS BUSINESS: EUROPE VS. THE AMERICAS

The global sports industry is a multi-million dollar business that spans several areas, from media rights to memorabilia stands. Although the European and U.S. sports sectors converge in several ways, each embodies unique facets that reflect diverse cultures, core values and legal constructs.

The 2nd Sports Management Summit will offer a singular forum for European and U.S. sports executives to engage, analyze and debate the critical areas of the sports industry, including differing business models, media considerations, sponsorships, and properties comprised by athletes, teams and leagues.

The meeting will feature a panel discussion with distinguished European and American representatives, who will share their frontline insights on media and sponsorships. Other speakers include the motivational speaker and ultra-endurance athlete Alexandra Panayotou; and John Carlin, the renowned journalist and author of "Playing the Enemy: Nelson Mandela and the Game That Made a Nation", the inspiration for the blockbuster film "Invictus".

Founded in 1958, IESE Business School is consistently ranked among the world’s top business schools. The school’s leadership development programs span the globe, from its campuses in New York City Center, Barcelona and Madrid, to its executive education centers in Munich, Sao Paulo and Shanghai.
