This year IESE will host the 20th Food and Beverage Industry Meeting, jointly organized with Deloitte. And it looks to be a very promising edition with a group of leading senior executives, entrepreneurs and academics joining us to discuss a full agenda of topics and challenges.
To help define the future of an industry so vital for growth, development and wellbeing, we propose taking a broad, holistic approach. We aim to provide a context for thought-provoking dialogue that helps brew up new aromas and ideas.
When it comes to talking about the food and beverage industry, the value chain, responsibility, growth and the industry’s cross-cutting and universal nature all come into play. It is part of every single country around the world and forms part of all cultures, yet it differs in each of them. It’s about necessity as well as gastronomy. It’s about small scale as well as large. It’s about new as well as traditional. It’s about politics, economics and employment too. It’s about society, health and nutrition too. It’s about demographics, agriculture and geography. It’s about cooperation and culture. It’s about digital and the world. And it’s about the future.
This is the spirit of the 20th edition to be held May 26, 2016 on IESE’s Barcelona campus. Through a global, creative and conscientious approach to the future, we aim to define what the next 20 years have in store for the sector. We will also delve deep to understand what it is, what it represents today and what it will be in the future. And how we should prepare for the challenges that lie ahead.
The meeting will be organized in five roundtable discussions:
IT’S ABOUT ECONOMICS AND GEOPOLITCS
A macroeconomic and geopolitical perspective
IT’S ABOUT DIGITAL AND THE FUTURE
Digital transformation and innovation
IT’S ABOUT GEOGRAPHY AND THE WORLD
Exports and internationalization
IT’S ABOUT DEMOGRAPHICS AND NUTRITION
Sustainability and demographic challenges: agriculture and nutrition
IT’S ABOUT THE COMPANY AND LEADERSHIP
Missions, values, employment and growth
The participants at the Industry Meeting will receive the 2016 edition of the Vademecum on Food and Beverage Markets, which includes the Food and Beverage Attractiveness Index, as well as updated data and information on the leading export markets.
