Programa de Dirección General | IESE Business School

The General Management Program (PDG) is a learning journey that addresses the knowledge, mindsets, skills and capabilities required to succeed as a GM.

Through discussion, debate, action-oriented activities and deep reflection, PDG will help you develop eight key competencies that will transform the way you lead.

Integrative thinking

You’ll become expert in integrating and aligning functions, units or regions around the core goals, strategies and values of your organization. You’ll be a better bridge builder, translator, aligner.

Innovation mind-set

You’ll become faster, more effective, at identifying and exploiting opportunities for new products, new services or new markets. You’ll know who to deploy when you need to use creativity to convert problems into advantages.

Decision making

Your decision analysis will reflect deeper understanding of your broader competitive context and pan-organizational goals, as well as an enhanced capacity to delegate.

Change competency

You’ll identify the levers and the key people to build impetus for change, and follow through on its implementation.

Negotiating and influencing

You’ll lead complex negotiations to more effective outcomes. And become highly skilled at aligning diverse stakeholders, resources and capabilities around enterprise-level objectives.

You’ll translate complex problems into simple, meaningful explanations. And acquire expert skills to resolve crises, disputes or customer challenges, and build passion and commitment around shared goals.

Self Management

You’ll develop heightened empathy, self-awareness and emotional intelligence. Improved interpersonal skills will make you better at developing talent and minimizing barriers to achievement.

Team management

You’ll bring your teams into alignment with a shared vision and common purpose to achieve your organization’s goals. As a leader you’ll empower others to achieve new levels of success, delegating authority to enable the team to work without direct management.
