Marco Tortoriello is an Associate Professor of Strategic Management at IESE Business School. His research focuses on understanding mechanisms and returns to network relationships defined within and across organizations.
In particular, Professor Tortoriello studies the social context of intra- and inter-organizational relationships focusing on social networks, knowledge management, organizational innovativeness, and performance.
Professor Tortoriello received his Ph.D. in Industrial Administration from Carnegie Mellon University. He is currently a member of the Editorial Board of the Academy of Management Review and Organization Science. His recent research has appeared in such journals as Organization Science, the Academy of Management Journal, European Management Journal, and the Journal of Trust Research.
At IESE Business School Professor Tortoriello teaches/has taught Competitive Strategy at the MBA, Executive MBA, and Global Executive MBA level. In addition to that, he routinely teaches modules on social networks, change, and strategy implementation in several in-company executive education programs.
As part of his professional activities Professor Tortoriello has conducted research and consulting projects for large multinational companies such as Alcoa and STMicrolectronics
