Competitiveness Summer School

The Competitiveness Summer School - for Leading Regions, Clusters and Cities is designed to enable senior economic policymakers and development professionals to study and discuss global best practices in competitiveness and economic development using examples from all over the world, including Denmark, Austria, Brazil and Tanzania.

This two-week Competitiveness Summer School is jointly organized by IESE Business School and the European Foundation for Cluster Excellence and is taught by the faculty of both institutions.

This Competitiveness Summer School is designed to be an enriching experience in which diverse individuals from different countries and different areas of competitiveness-related fields have the opportunity to come together and learn from the faculty members and each other.

It will be held at IESE Barcelona from June 14th to 23rd, 2016.


Presentation of the “Barometer of the business Climate in Spain 2015”

The 8th edition of the “Barometer of the business climate in Spain 2015” was presented in an event held at the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness in Madrid on October 28th, 2015. The event was introduced by José Carlos García de Quevedo, Executive Director of Invest in Spain, ICEX, Adolfo Aguilar Delgado, President of Multinacionales por Marca España and Luis Arias Hormaechea, General Manager of corporate Development and Institutional Relations at IESE. The report was later presented by Maria Luisa Blazquez, from the International Center for Competitiveness at IESE.

The Barometer is a report co-produced by ICEX-Invest in Spain, the conglomeration Foreign Multinationals for the Spain brand and the International Center for Competitiveness (ICC) at IESE.

The Barometer shows the rating and importance given to the business climate in Spain by more than 500 foreign companies. It provides insight into the strengths that need to be maintained and the central areas of activity to focus on.


Presentation of the “Barometer of the business Climate in Andalucía 2015”

The “Barometer of the business climate in Andalucía 2015” was presented in an event held at the Business Confederation of Andalucía in Sevilla on November 30th, 2015. The event was introduced by Antonio Carrillo Alcalá, General Secretary of the Business Confederation of Andalucía and Antonio Clavero Barranquero, General Manager of IDEA.

The report was later presented by Maria Luisa Blazquez, from the International Center for Competitiveness at IESE and Francisco Álvaro Julio, Manager of strategic Investments at IDEA. The Barometer is a report co-produced by IDEA, the Agency promoting foreign investment in Andalucía, ICEX-Invest in Spain, and the International Center for Competitiveness (ICC) at IESE. The Barometer shows the rating and importance given to the business climate in Andalucía by the foreign companies operating in the region. It provides insight into the strengths that need to be maintained and the central areas of activity to focus on.
