CONTINUED STUDY

1. Students' continued study in official master's degree programs at the University is limited to a period consisting of the academic year(s) necessary to complete the studies as indicated in the master's degree program report.

2. However, if said period has expired, it can be extended for an additional academic year for students who have obtained the majority of credits needed for the master's degree and prove that they were unable to give due attention to their studies for duly justified reasons.

3. The extension must be requested during the last academic year of the normal period, via a written request to the Office of the Executive Council of the University, which will issue a decision based on a report of the Center's Board of Management.

4. When there are sufficient grounds and experience warrants it, the Centers may propose particular specifications for these standards to the Office of the Executive Council.

5. Students with special educational needs or those who are completing studies part time who cannot meet these provisions must present their situation each year prior to formalizing their enrollment in order to adapt it to their ability to dedicate the time to their studies.

6. Students enrolled in master's degree programs not adapted to the European Higher Education Area or in university-accredited qualifications will be subject to the requirements for continued study applicable to those programs of study.


CREDIT RECOGNITION AND TRANSFER FOR MASTER'S DEGREE PROGRAMS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NAVARRA

  • 1. Credit Recognition

    1. Studies done in other curricula that lead to the obtainment of official master's degrees at the University of Navarra or any other university that provides instruction in these and equivalent degree programs may be recognized.

    2. Credits earned at other official higher education centers or universities that lead to the obtainment of other qualifications, as provided for in Article 34.1 of Organic Law 6 on Universities of 21 December 2001, may also be recognized.

    Accredited job and professional experience may also be recognized in the form of credits, which will be counted for the purpose of obtaining an official degree, provided this experience is related to the skills inherent to the said degree.

    The number of credits to be recognized based on job experience, professional experience and non-official university instruction may not account, as a whole, for more than 15% of the total credits in the curriculum. Recognition of these credits will not include grades, so they will not be used to calculate the grade point average.

    Notwithstanding the foregoing, in the case of university-accredited qualifications, a higher percentage of credits or, as applicable, all the credits from the qualification may be exceptionally recognized, provided the corresponding qualification has been discontinued and replaced with an official degree. The verification report of this official degree will mention this circumstance, as well as any required information.

    3. Under no circumstances may the credits corresponding to the master's thesis project be recognized.

    4. Moreover, subjects taken in other universities within the framework of an exchange program or partnership agreements signed by the University will also be recognized.

    5. These recognized credits will be reflected in the student's academic transcript and will count towards obtaining the official degree once the fees established in each case are paid.

  • 2. Credit Transfer

    6. The academic transcript will also include any credits earned in official education programs that did not lead towards obtaining an official degree.

    7. All the credits obtained by the student in official education programs taught at any university, transferred credits, recognized credits and the credits earned in the corresponding degree program will be included on the academic transcript and reflected in the European Diploma Supplement.

  • 3. Procedure

    8. Students will submit their recognition application to the Office of the Registrar for registration. The application should also contain an academic transcript indicating the program and that all the subjects to be recognized were passed.

    The Office of the Registrar will send the recognition file to the center in charge of the master's degree program.

    The master's recognition committee will assess the skills acquired in the previous studies and will issue the required recognition report.

    After examining the recognition report, the Office of the Executive Council will issue the corresponding decision. The Office of the Registrar will communicate with the student by regular mail and email.

  • 4. Recognition Committee

    9. Each master's degree program will have a recognition committee appointed by the center in charge, which will carry out the corresponding study of accredited skills to issue the recognition report.
