IESE New York Center Team

In June of 2007, IESE announced it would open permanent offices in the United States. The opening of its New York center makes it the first European business school to establish permanent operations in the U.S.

US-EU Media Conference: Evolving Business Models in the Newspaper Industry Held at IESE's New York Center - July 8, 2010 News organizations' top leadership personnel and legal scholars from Europe and America attended this half-day symposium to discuss the challenges they face in maintaining responsible, broad spectrum journalism in Europe and the Americas, especially as they confront the ever-changing economics of online content distribution. Attendees included Tom Curley (CEO, Associated Press), Lawrence A. Jacobs (Senior Exec. Vice President and Group General Counsel, News Corporation), Deirdre Stanley (Executive Vice President & Chief Counsel, Thomson Reuters), and John F. Sturm (President & CEO Newspaper Association of America), as well as other media executives and legal scholars from Europe and Latin America. The event was organized by Dr. William F. Baker, Distinguished Professor of the Practice of Management in Media & Entertainment, and former President & CEO of WNET, America's  premier public television station.

IESE's New York Center Hosts International Women's Entrepreneurial Challenge (IWEC) Breakfast Featuring 2010 IWEC Awardees - June 24, 2010   The breakfast featured a moderated panel of the three awardees discussing the pros and cons of their international outreach/best practices/challenges, a Q & A session as well as networking. The IWEC Award is bestowed on three of the top women entrepreneurs on the East Coast of United States and, in 2010, the award is being given to an additional 15 women from around the world at an international conference in Cape Town, South Africa in September. Bill Ford of Ford Motor Company Speaks at IESE-sponsored WSJ Event in New York City - June 17, 2010  Bill Ford, Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ford Motor Company, took part in the Viewpoints Executive Breakfast Series in New York City this week. The event is organized by The Wall Street Journal, BCG and IESE Business School. Read more

IESE’s New York Center Holds International Workshop on Health Care Reform - June 11, 2010  IESE’s Academic Director (US) and Prof. of Economics Luis Cabral hosted a group of academic and industry leaders to discuss various approaches to solving the crisis. Presenters included: Prof. David Cutler , the Otto Eckstein Professor of Applied Economics at Harvard University - He also served as a senior advisor for Barack Obama’s Presidential campaign. Prof. Regina Herzlinger, a Prof. of Business Administration at Harvard Business School, other scholars and industry leaders also participated.  Read more

Hearst Corporation's CEO Kicks Off IESE-Paley Center's Media AMP Leadership Forums - June 3, 2010 Frank A. Bennack, Jr., Chief Executive Officer of Hearst Corporation, is the first among an impressive line of C-level speakers to confirm his participation in the Leadership Forums of IESE's Advanced Management Program in Media and Entertainment (Media AMP), which starts in January 2011. Leadership Forums feature one-on-one conversations with major industry "movers and shakers" and executives who are changing the face of the business. Read more

Financial Times Ranks IESE's Open Programs No.1 in Europe and No. 2 in the World - May 10, 2010 The Financial Times has ranked IESE 5th in the world overall for its executive education programs, and No. 1 in Europe and No. 2 in the world for open enrollment offerings. The ranking takes into account factors such as the quality of the faculty, participant satisfaction and the international character of the school. Read more

IESE’s New York Center Hosts Renowned Spanish PianistJosé Menor- June 3, 2010 As part of a special IESE Alumni Recognition Event, Mr. Menor performed the Iberia suite by Isaac Albéniz, in honor of the composer's 150th anniversary. Over 100 guests attended this magnificent concert and then toured IESE's recently opened New York York Center. Read more
