Biography
Sjaak Hurkens is a Tenured Scientist at the Institute for Economic Analysis (CSIC). He is also an affiliated professor of the Barcelona GSE and a research fellow of the SP-SP research center at IESE. He has previously been an associate professor at Universitat Pompeu Fabra and a HCM Fellow at University College London. He holds a PhD in economics from Tilburg University (The Netherlands). He has taught microeconomics and game theory in the PhD programs of UPF (GPEFM) and UAB (IDEA). His main research interests are game theory, microeconomics and industrial organization.
He has contributed to the literature on equilibrium refinements, learning, communication, information acquisition and bargaining. He is also interested in experimental economics and telecom regulation issues.
