This symposium is organized by the Madrid Work & Organizations group, a network of scholars interested in the area of work and organizations and affiliated with three different institutions: IE Business School, IESE Business School, and Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. The main objective of the group is to promote interaction among researchers based in Madrid and with researchers from other institutions. The terms “work and organizations” are broadly defined to include multiple disciplines such as human resource management, industrial relations, organizational behavior, sociology and personnel economics.
The group organizes two events: the Work & Organizations Workshop, in which local researchers present and discuss on-going research; and the Work & Organizations Symposium, whose aim is to invite top scholars from outside Madrid to present their own research. Both events are organized annually and rotate through the three institutions.
The 1st Madrid Work & Organizations Symposium will take place on October 28th, 2011, at IESE Business School from 8:45 to 5 pm.
