Jan Simon es Profesor Ordinario de la Práctica de la Dirección en el departamento de Iniciativa Emprendedora de IESE y Director Académico del IESE International Search Fund Center.

Jan trabajó durante más de dos décadas en la industria de la inversión. Codirigió la Mesa de Negociación de Mercados Emergentes en Salomon Brothers, estableció la Mesa de Ventas y Negociación Continental en Goldman Sachs y fue miembro del Grupo Asesor de Fondos de Cobertura de Merrill Lynch. Ha sido asesor especial de Pacific Lake Partners y es socio director de Vonzeo Capital, un inversor internacional institucional especializado en fondos de búsqueda.

Su experiencia se centra en las áreas de estrategia de inversión, fusiones y adquisiciones, y adquisiciones alternativas. Ha gestionado inversiones en renta variable, renta fija, fondos de búsqueda y asesorado a fondos de cobertura valiéndose de diversas estrategias. Su investigación ha sido publicada en revistas académicas como el Journal of Network Theory in Finance y el British Journal of Management.

Jan tiene una licenciatura y un máster en derecho de KU Leuven, un MBA de IESE Business School, es Doctor en Finanzas de la University of Essex, tiene la designación ICD.D para directores corporativos de Rotman School of Management y obtuvo su AMP en Harvard Business School.

Sirvió en el 1er Batallón de Paracaidistas y Comandos -Regimiento de Operaciones Especiales-, así como en las Fuerzas Especiales de Intervención de la OTAN -ACE Mobile Force. Posee las boinas verde y roja.
