Europe’s Top MBAs Gather for NYC Career Expo
26/08/2014 New York
Around 70 MBA students from some of Europe’s most prestigious business schools attended IESE’s Career Expo in New York on August 25. The students, from London Business School, IESE, HEC, Oxford Said, Rotterdam School of Management and SDA Bocconi, gathered at IESE’s New York center where they met representatives from companies such as Bain & Co., Altair Management Consulting, Emerson, Liberty Mutual, Deloitte, Cognizant and Infosys, among others. Recruiters held one-on-one meetings with students throughout the day.
MBA nationalities represented at the Expo were as follows: US 45%, Canada 20%, Europe 22%, Asia 7%, Latin America 4%, and Eastern Europe 2%. Nearly 90% of them speak at least three languages.
This Career Expo format has become a staple of IESE’s Career Services’ events held outside its global campus in Barcelona. The initiative, which includes MBAs from other top European B-schools, responds to the needs of international recruiters who seek one-stop access to top talent who are ready for global, cross-cultural management jobs.
"In a business world which is ever more global, IESE recognizes the importance of attending to both recruiters’ interests of hiring tomorrow’s global leaders and students’ desires to have more employment choices, and who are increasingly more flexible and mobile regarding job opportunities," says IESE’s Global Head of Career Services, Javier Muñoz. "We have Career Service staff located strategically around the world and are responding to what we hear from the recruiters and HR staff we work with."
The Latin America Career Fair will be hosted in London from October 11-12, 2014 at LBS, in partnership with IESE Business School and INSEAD. This event will focus on Latin American candidates. Companies such as Latam Airlines, Brazil Foods, Votorantim Cimentos, L’Oreal, Johnson & Johnson, Itau, AB Inbev, Credicorp and Integration Consulting will participate, with recruiters are travelling from Latin America to meet some 150 Latin American students studying in Europe who would like to return to their home countries with top companies. An Asia Career Fair is also scheduled to take place in London on November 1, 2014.
