New Product: Mendeley
The IESE Library has licensed the Mendeley Institutional Edition for the IESE community, enabling users of the reference management software Mendeley to benefit from numerous enhancements.
What is Mendeley?
Mendeley is a desktop and web program for managing and sharing research papers, discovering research data and collaborating online.
What can Mendeley do?
• It organizes references, quotes, PDFs.
• It provides a web and desktop application that synchronizes web and desktop application data automatically.
• It allows you to insert quotes or create bibliographies automatically, both in Word and OpenOffice format.
• It also serves as a social network and academic collaboration platform, allowing you to search our registration records and follow other researchers who work in similar fields.
• It grants users access to complete statistics on a range of disciplines and fields.
Mendeley Institutional Edition (MIE)
With the Mendeley Institutional Edition, the IESE Library offers Mendeley users a free upgrade with the following features:
• 5GB private library space for PDFs (instead of 2GB)
• Up to 1,000 private groups (instead of 1)
• Group Storage space of up to 20GB (instead of 100MB)
• Invite up to 25 people into private groups (instead of 3)
• Mendeley Suggest, our state-of-the-art personal article recommendation tool
• Automatic literature recommendations (Mendeley Suggest)
You can take advantage of the abovementioned benefits if you authenticate yourself as a member of IESE Business School with your IESE email address when creating your Mendeley account. Then go to the group and click on “Join this group”.
How to access to Mendeley?
Access campus-wide and off campus, from the Databases page.
The Desktop version (click on "Download Mendeley Desktop") allows you to create and organize your collection of references and documents. You can also drag and drop PDF files to automatically incorporate them into a bibliography as well as underline and add notes to documents as you read them. You can also share them with classmates privately.
