IESE Business School held its\u00a0International Coaching Symposium<\/strong><\/a>, and\u00a0Prof. Alberto Ribera<\/strong><\/a>, head of the Executive Coaching Unit, has published\u00a0a book<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0on the process. Here, some of the benefits of coaching for leaders:<\/p>\n

1.<\/span> It creates a time and space for thought and discussion<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In the day-to-day of life and work, it can be difficult to find the time or context for deliberate, conscious reflection on what your goals are and what you\u2019re doing to achieve them. Coaching creates exactly that space.<\/p>\n

2.<\/span> <\/strong>It gives you a different kind of feedback than you\u2019re likely to hear from anyone else<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Coaching isn\u2019t an assessment. It\u2019s not criticism (or praise) from your boss, or feedback from employees. The coach has no agenda except to support you \u2013 which can sometimes begin with discovering a weakness you didn\u2019t fully realize you had. Together with your coach, you\u2019ll arrive at new conclusions.<\/p>\n
