Cátedra Schneider Electric de Sostenibilidad y Estrategia

En las últimas décadas, la sociedad espera cada vez más que las empresas se conviertan en actores sociales y aborden problemas como el cambio climático, la escasez de agua, el acceso a la electricidad, el agotamiento de los recursos naturales, la contaminación, los cambios demográficos, la pobreza y la desigualdad.

Construir un futuro más sostenible requiere un enfoque y un compromiso a largo plazo. La Cátedra Schneider Electric de Sostenibilidad y Estrategia de Negocio analiza los modelos de negocio estratégicos y las medidas de gobierno que pueden contribuir a la consecución de este objetivo.

La Cátedra pretende abordar los retos de la sostenibilidad a través de conocimientos científicos profundos. Junto con estos conocimientos, las prácticas de negocio pueden adecuarse para crear empresas más responsables y duraderas que puedan formar parte de una sociedad más responsable.

Líneas de investigación

  • Entender la innovación sostenible como el origen de la ventaja competitiva.
  • Identificar las oportunidades de negocio en el proceso de resolución de los retos sociales (siguiendo la filosofía de tener éxito haciendo lo correcto).
  • Evaluar el impacto de las iniciativas sostenibles en los resultados globales de las empresas e identificar condiciones que sean beneficiosas para todas las partes.
  • Estudiar los procesos que permitan a las empresas resolver los retos de sostenibilidad que plantean las zonas urbanas, centrándose especialmente en la conservación del agua, la gestión energética y la movilidad sostenible.
  • Identificar estructuras organizativas y mecanismos de gobierno que favorezcan las estrategias sostenibles y la innovación.
  • Calibrar las ventajas y los riesgos de diferentes iniciativas sostenibles en los mercados globales y la sociedad en general, incluyéndolos en la base de la pirámide tanto en las economías emergentes como en las consolidadas.

Titular de la Cátedra

Pascual Berrone es profesor de Dirección Estratégica del IESE. Es vicepresidente de la Iberoamerican Academy of Management y director académico de la plataforma Cities in Motion. Es fundador del Madrid Strategy Group y editor asociado de Organization & Environment y Family Business Review. Su trabajo se centra en la comprensión del impacto de las estrategias de sostenibilidad y de las condiciones necesarias para garantizar su eficacia. Sus estudios han sido publicados en las revistas más prestigiosas y ha recibido varios premios de investigación.
