Inés Alegre es doctora en Administración de Empresas por el IESE e Ingeniero Industrial por la Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC).

Antes de unirse al IESE, Inés fue profesora adjunta en la Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC) y en la Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC).

Su investigación se centra en las nuevas organizaciones surgidas de la economía colaborativa, como plataformas de consumo colaborativo, crowdsourcing, crowdfunding y empresas sociales. En su tesis analizó cómo las empresas sociales gestionan su doble objetivo social y económico.
