Massimo Maoret es Profesor Agregado en el Departamento de Dirección Estratégica e investigador del programa Marie Curie de la Comisión Europea. En 2013 obtuvo un Ph.D. en Management en el Boston College; es miembro activo de la Academy of Management y, entre 2010 y 2013, formó parte del Economic Sociology Work Group de la MIT Sloan School of Management.

La investigación del Prof. Maoret se centra en cómo las redes sociales impactan en el rendimiento, la innovación, la socialización de los nuevos empleados y la creación social de la cultura. Su trabajo académico ha aparecido en varias revistas científicas, como Organization Science, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Journal of Management Studies, Academy of Management Discoveries, Advance in Strategic Management and Research in the Sociology of Organizations. El Prof. Maoret sirve también en la Junta de Revision Editorial de Organization Science, Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Management, Journal of Management Studies and Organization Studies.

En el IESE, el Prof. Maoret enseña Implantación y Ejecución estratégica, Teoría organizacional, Liderazgo del cambio organizacional, Establecer redes estratégicas de negocio y Estrategia competitiva (con un enfoque en el sector energético). A nivel ejecutivo ha ofrecido módulos personalizados para Adecco Group, Boehringer Ingelheim, DOW Chemical, DSM, ERSTE, Faurecia, HARMAN, Henkel, Shiseido, UNICEF, UPS, WebSummit y XING.
