INTRODUCTION

The food and beverage industry is weathering the crisis a lot better than other sectors.

As the country's top industrial sector, food represents 16% of net industrial sales, 17% of employment and 7.6% of GDP and has a positive trade balance.  Therefore, according to the 2020 Integrated Industrial Policy Plan, it is a "strategic industry".

There are three basic factors that enable many of the industry's companies to continue to grow despite the crisis: innovation in the broadest sense of the term, internationalisation and best practices in company management, both in terms of industry and retail.

We are going to develop this 16th Meeting with practical examples of excellent companies, including some SMEs that have emerged as dark horses: presentations, research studies, round tables and lots of networking will make for an intensive and interesting Meeting.

At the end of the day, the second edition of the Food & Beverage Global Award will be awarded to the businessman or businesswoman, selected by the jury, who have distinguished themselves by their international career and who will be the guest speaker closing the Meeting.
