Peter Orszag: The U.S. Health Policy

03/01/2011

During the 2010 IESE Global Alumni Reunion, Peter Orszag, former White House budget director in Barack Obama's administration, discussed the U.S. economy, the health-care budget and the dichotomy of how to extend medical coverage but reduce costs.

Having been particularly involved in fiscal reform and the long-awaited health-care overhaul, which was a key facet of President Obama's election campaign, Orszag explains that 25 percent of health-care beneficiaries in the U.S. account for 80 percent of costs and what is being implemented to change this.
