Obesity and Globalization

Obesity is now the fifth highest risk factor for mortality in developed economies, which has major implications for health-care costs. A new study by IESE Prof. Núria Mas tries to see if there is any relationship between obesity and globalization. She finds that globalization and obesity do go hand in hand, but social, rather than economic, globalization appears to be the deciding factor.
